about

Narcissistic and self-focused, we are programmed to accept the world around us and figure out a way to live in it, deal with it. Then one day we wake up to the realization, it's not just about me. This status quo I've been taught to just accept is unacceptable. Furthermore we are not alone in this belief.

This song is about a willingness to come together, to unite, and to exert the force of change on a our world. Which means, I have to be willing to be visible, to challenge those who hold power. With visibility comes risk, the risk of being a target. Yet, With visibility comes a voice, a voice for change.

lyrics

I know there's more than what I see
I know there's more inside of me
I know there's more than what I see
I want more than what I see in front of me
Yeah eh eh eh eh eh eh eh (x4)

I get caught up in selfish dreams
It's time I start remembering
That I can wake, that I can speak
I can fight for a world that I wanna see
Yeah eh eh eh eh eh eh eh (x4)

Arrest me
You think it's a crime, you think it's a crime?
Arrest me
I don't think it's a crime
Arrest me
I'm changing the game, I'm changing the game
Arrest me
The 1% is insane

No I'm not armed, I'm just loaded
My wisdom lends a new vision
No I'm not in this for the wealth
I'm all in for them and me and everybody's health
Yeah eh eh eh eh eh eh eh (x4)

Arrest Me
You think it's a crime, you think it's a crime?
Arrest me
I don't think it's a crime
Arrest me
I'm changing the game, I'm changing the game
Arrest me
The 1% is insane

You know they will, they'll come for you
What will you say, what will you do
When no one's left to stand for you?
You know me, I'm gonna kiss and tell my truth
Yeah eh eh eh eh eh eh eh (x4)

Arrest me
Arrest me
Arrest me
I don't think it's a crime...

Arrest Me
You think it's a crime, you think it's a crime?
Arrest me
I don't think it's a crime
Arrest me
I'm changing the game, I'm changing the game
Arrest me
The 1% is insane

I'm gonna keep going until they
Arrest me
Im gonna keep going until they
Arrest me
Arrest (x4)

about

Laura Ivancie Portland, Oregon

When a softly spoken singer-songwriter with guitar in hand lists Ani Difranco as one of her primary influences; describes her music as “rooted in blues;” shreds her ‘good girl image’ and starts experimenting with the succulent sounds of electronic strings, synths, trip-hop and dance beats, you know you’re in for an interesting listen! ... more
